From Spray Foam Roofing to Hollywood
In 2004, Joe Keiran, of Florida, created a successful spray foam roofing company that grew to accommodate a sales force of 30. He later sold the company. In the early 1990’s, he began working for some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. Joe’s expertise in spraying foam and coatings became a perfect fit for creating intricate props needed for movies and TV.
“It was challenging, but we had to create props and scenery that looked completely natural, as if it belonged there. It was fun work and paid better than traditional spray foam applications, “said Joe.
Most people remember the movie Twister. Below are a few photos taken from scanning 35MM film, in an era before digital cameras.

“The Sea Quest TV work was cool. It starred Roy Schneider and the talking Dolphin,” said Joe. Below is an underwater cave being created with spray foam.

“That’s me spraying the tree prop for a Captain Kangaroo Show. Marty Rich was the Sculptor/Artist. He’s an amazing guy. I met so many talented and interesting people over the years. We made lots of Polyurea and foam props that have passed the test of time–many over 30 years old now,” said Joe.
