August 29, 2017 - The company’s first product to eliminate high global warming potential (GWP) has received certification by the ICC-ES. The certification will help architects, builders and contractors specify the right products for their projects and ease their minds about how Demilec's spray foam insulation fits within international building codes and energy conservation regulations. The ICC-ES certification officially confirms that Heatlok HFO High Lift is in compliance with the 2009, 2012 and 2015 International Building Codes (IBC), International Residential Codes (IRC) and International Energy Conservation Codes (IECC).
DEMILEC’S COMMITMENT
“Final testing certification demonstrates Demilec’s commitment to helping architects, builders and contractors specify the right products for their projects. It will also ease their minds about how our spray foam insulation fits within international building codes and energy conservation regulations,” said Doug Brady, Vice President of Strategic Marketing at Demilec.
CODE COMPLIANCE
The International Code Council Evaluation Service conducts technical evaluations of building products, components, methods and materials to ensure that they meet code compliance and enforce building regulations, providing regulators and construction professionals with clear evidence that the evaluated products and materials comply with codes and standards.
HFO MOLECULE REDUCES GLOBAL WARMING POTENTIAL
Heatlok HFO High Lift spray foam insulation is Demilec’s first product formulated with Honeywell’s Solstice Liquid Blowing Agent, a hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) molecule that reduces its Global Warming Potential (GWP) to 1 -- 99.9% lower than the HFC blowing agents it replaces. With its high-performing green components, Demilec’s Heatlok formula can earn commercial and residential projects up to ten LEED certification points.
APPLY UP TO 6 ½ INCHES OF FOAM IN ONE PASS!
Additionally, Heatlok HFO High Lift benefits contractors by allowing up to six and a half inches of foam to be applied in one pass, saving time and reducing the need for multiple passes to achieve the required insulation thickness or R-values set by building codes.
